1. Budget: Budget yourself so that you know how much to spend on bills and how much income you have left over at the end of the month. Have a little saved for emergency and put the rest towards the credit cards.

2. Cut Costs: Cut costs at every corner that you can so that you can fit easily within your planned budget. This might mean taking the bus or subway to work or purchasing a cheaper brand when you buy groceries, but all of this money adds up to larger amounts in the long run.

3. Get Rid of the Credit Cards: Stop using the credit cards immediately and cut them up if you have to. Once you have them paid off, close the account so that you have no access to them and therefore can’t put yourself back into debt.

These three things may not seem like much but if you save $20 a week, that is £80 a month that can go towards those built up utility bills or into the savings account.
